PORTER, Ada Alice
– Age 84,
Dort’s Cove, Guysborough County. It is with great
sadness and broken hearts that we the family of Ada Alice Porter
announce her passing on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in the Milford
Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough, where she was a resident for
the past 6 months. Born in New Waterford on September 21,
1936, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Waidson)
Hulme. Ada was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, bingo,
playing cards, baking and cooking. Love for her family was
her biggest passion and she showed it in everything she
did.
Ada is survived by daughters; Debbie (Stevie) Daix, Brenda
Hendsbee, Pam (Kevin) Myatt, Sharon (Bruce) George, Rose (Pat) Patton,
grandchildren; Stephen, Jason, D.J., Mandy, Jonathan, Glenn, Wayne,
Nicole, Ryker, 12 great grandchildren, and sisters; Marion (Neil)
Donavan and Thelma Doucette. Besides her parents Ada was
predeceased by her husband Courtney “Buddy” Porter,
son-in-law; Kenneth Hendsbee, grandson; Corey Daix, sisters; Diane
(Richard) Eksal, Eva McNeil, brothers; George, Mark and Gordon in
infancy.
The family would like to Thank all the staff at Milford Haven
Home and Guysborough Memorial Hospital and Dr. Ranjini and Dr. Bell
for their hard work, great care, kindness and friendship to our
mother. She loved you all.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. There will be no
visitation or funeral as per Ada’s wishes. A
private family burial will be held at a later date.
Donations in Ada’s memory may be made to Milford Haven
