Julia Mary Lenfesty of Drumheller, AB, beloved wife of the late Douglas Lenfesty, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2020 at the age of 92.
Julia was born September 22, 1927 at Jenner, AB to Joseph and Mary Turkosz.
She married Douglas Lenfesty at Knox United Church in Drumheller on April 6, 1946.
Julia is survived by her son Wayne Lenfesty (Kris Burkholder); daughter Corrine Lenfesty; 2 grandchildren – Angela and Jody; 3 great-grandchildren – Laurie, Layne and Emily; sister Helen Knutson of Medicine Hat, AB.
She was predeceased by her husband Douglas in 2012, daughter-in-law Joan in 2009, brother Stanley Turkosz in 2014 and an infant daughter Teresa Elaine.
Julia was very community minded, was a member of the Hanna & District Ag Society, Hand Hills United Church, volunteered at Pioneer Trail Centre and was the first
woman to serve as secretary at the Hand Hills Club.
She was an awardwinning gardener, an avid card player, and enjoyed her time sewing, knitting and learning new crafts. She was a perfectionist and mastered everything she took on.
Julia loved her family and friends and looked forward to her visits with them. She will be missed and remembered for her beautiful smile and giving spirit.
A service will be held after the world is back to normal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Drumheller Continuing Care, 351 9 Street NW, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y1.
