WARNER, Mark Stephen
1954 — 2020
Mark Stephen Warner passed away on April 1, 2020 in his home in Kelowna, BC.
Mark was born February 8, 1954 in Barrie, Ontario to David and Florence Warner. He graduated from Carson Graham High School in 1972. At 19 years old, Mark traveled to Israel, where he met his future Finnish wife, Anna K. Harmiala, in December 1973 living on a kibbutz. They moved to Canada together and got married in July 1975. They were married for 20 years. On July 20, 1976 and October 11, 1982 respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful children who were the most important part of his life.
After traveling abroad, Mark worked for Canada Post for about 7 years and in 1983, Mark started working for GMAC until his retirement in 2009.
Mark had a big sense of humor and an even bigger heart. He donated each Christmas to World Vision International and he spent time, when he could, volunteering at the local homeless shelter. Throughout his life, Mark enjoyed photography, playing the guitar & traveling the world, taking in new cultures, as well as spending quality time with loved ones and dear friends. He was a man with many funny stories & adventures and loved to share them.
Mark is survived by his children Michael & Lisa (Mason) Warner; ex-spouse Anna Warner; brothers Peter (Janis) Warner & Christopher (Cathy) Warner; as well as nieces, nephew & cousins. He was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The family will be getting together late summer to celebrate his life in Tofino, BC, one of his favorite places, and scatter his ashes in the Pacific Ocean.
