SOFIA TACIO SHONTOGAN November 23 1942 April 22020

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sofia Tacio Shontogan announce her passing at Surrey Memorial Hospital, BC, Canada on April 2 after a prolonged illness. Originally from the Philippines, Sofia lived in Hong Kong for 13 years and immigrated to Canada in 1993.
Sofia was known as a friendly, soft-spoken lady who enjoyed the company of fellow church members, relative’s, and friends.
Sofia is survived by her spouse of 21 years, Galvin B. Edwin and three children from late husband Arsenio Shontogan: Patrick Sr. (Luz), Elsie, and Mark (Suzy); two grandchildren: Floyd (Kathy) and Froilan (Annabelle); and three great-grandchildren: April Joy, Patrick Jr. and Ray Allan. Through Galvin B. Edwin, three stepchildren: Allan, Gail (Paulo), and Alvin; and five step-grandchildren: Melissa, Michael, Madeleine, Megan and Maribeth.
The family thank the staff of Surrey Memorial Hospital for their efforts and wish to express heartfelt gratitude to extended relatives and friends who have sent condolences and comforting words – “May the good Lord continue to bless all of you. “The family has no plans for a memorial service.
