It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Emilio.
After a year long battle with pancreatic cancer, he passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2020. He was a devoted husband to his wife Amy, a loving father to his daughter Josie (Bruno) and was a caring Nonno to his grandsons Angelo and Luca. He will be dearly missed by his brother Gabrielle (Sara), his neice and nephew Simona & Guiseppe, his cousins Anna, Gabriella, Anthony, Maria Teresa, Felice, and Giovanni and numerous other family and friends.
Emilio always had the best smile, a heart of gold, and gave incredible hugs. He was such a hard-working, self-less, and faith-filled man who enjoyed spending time with family while travelling, camping and walking various trails. He was proud of his Italian heritage and was one of the founders of the Grimaldi Club. He loved gathering with his ‘paesani’ and dancing with the “love of his life” at every banquet. Emilio was also proud to be a part of the Urban Impact Family and remained connected to many dear friends from working at Koffman foods. His legacy, love, and kindness will continue to be spread through the lives of those he touched.
A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Helen’s Church followed by Entombment at Ocean View Burial Park Grand Mausoleum. A celebration of life will be done at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society and B.C Pancreas Society.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Emilio Francesco Maio April 2 1952 April 9 2020..
