Obituary of Peter John Anderson
Peter John Anderson
Airborne Sigs
Retired Dupont
I.O.O.F
1938-2020
Suddenly on April 1, 2020 at the Kingston General Hospital. Survived by his loving wife and soulmate Viola, chosen grandson David, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his father Lorne and mother Pansy (Stinson) Anderson, one brother, two sisters, their spouses and his in-laws Clifford and Margaret Boyles.
John was employed 32 years at Dupont on Production/Instructor. His early military service and army buddies always remained important to him. His love of horses had him and Viola following professional draft horse circuit several years after John’s retirement. A talented man, he taught carving, loved woodworking, music, singing and painting.
John’s membership in various I.O.O.F Lodges was important to him and he rose to Grand Patriarch of Ontario. His work with the humanitarian services committee and Camp Trillium camps for children with cancer held a special place in his heart. John’s ultimate joy was performing Santa Claus duties for the children and also for seniors and the sick and lonely. He was a selfless man who gave light and wisdom to all.
Rest in Peace.
Cremation has been entrusted to the James Reid Funeral Home with a celebration of life to follow at a later announced date.
Donations would be kindly appreciated to Camp Trillium.
