Doria Patricia Sanderson
1930-2020
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doria
Patricia Sanderson, 90, of Riverview. Born into a large
family in Calumet, Quebec on St Patrick’s Day in
1930. She joined the RCAF in 1951 and was a Radio operator
in the Yukon and Bagotville, PQ. After marrying, she lived
in Comox, BC, Lachine, PQ, Goose Bay, Labrador and
Riverview. She was an avid skier, played badminton and
softball. Doria was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens and
Toronto Blue Jays. She was also known for her feisty spirit and making
the best spaghetti sauce on the planet.
She is predeceased by her husband, Alan (Sandy) Sanderson, ,
infant son, Joseph and several brothers and
sisters. She is survived by her two sons William
(Kate) of Ottawa, Robert (Mary) of Riverview and daughter Patricia
(David) Slater of Ottawa. She is also survived by her
brother Allison of Dorval, PQ and her sister, Burald of Beeton,
ON. She also leaves 6 grandsons, Iain, Niall, Geoffrey,
Stuart, Michael and Christopher and her great-grandson
Logan.
It is with gratitude that we thank her very thoughtful
neighbours, Beulah and Linda. There will be no visitation or
funeral service at this time. A private family ceremony will
be held in her hometown in Quebec in the coming months.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
