Marg Condon (nee Morgan) passed away Monday, April 6, 2020. Marg is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bob; her brother Stan; her three daughters Cathy, Patty and Barb; her sons-in-law Curtis and Gregg; and her four grandchildren Jessica, Grace, Taia and Jack.
Marg grew up in Calgary and attended Earl Grey, Rideau and Central High schools. After studying nursing, she met Bob and they settled in Calgary to raise their family, eventually moving to Edmonton in the early 1970s. She had a lifelong love for sports (and a bit of a competitive streak!) and enjoyed skiing, badminton, basketball and golf.
The family also had many adventurous hiking trips to the mountains and Marg usually led the charge up and down in time for Happy Hour. After Bob retired, Marg and Bob enjoyed spending their winters in Phoenix, golfing and socializing with friends. With her boundless energy, enthusiasm and sparkle, Marg loved spending time with family and friends, whether travelling around New Zealand in a camper van with Bob, playing ping pong with her grandchildren at home in the basement or lining up a triple solitaire match with her daughters at the kitchen table.
Marg and Bob belonged to the Derrick Club in Edmonton for decades, where Marg enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with her friends. She led the family with three holes-in-one, two of them at the Derrick and one in Phoenix, and she enjoyed the celebrations afterwards even more than the shots themselves. Marg was a woman with an incredible spirit who demonstrated generosity and support every day to the people in her life. She was loved by many and was a role model to all for her warmth, her great sense of humour and her kindness. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Marg’s wonderful life will be held at a later date.
