Gregory Joseph Keating passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on January 3rd, 2020 at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Miramichi, Greg was the son of Val and Lois Keating. Greg taught in the Yukon for 30 years. He was a proud graduate of North & South Esk. He obtained a science degree from Mount Allison, a BEd from St. Thomas University and his Master in Education.
Greg is survived by his parents: Val and Lois Keating; sister: Valerie (Brian) Bowes; brothers: Perry (Claudia), Lindsay (Julie), Bernard (Jane); son: Luke John and daughter: Samantha (Russell) McDiarmid of Whitehorse, YT; two grandchildren: Addison and Brooke; his partner Dawna Nowlan as well as several nieces and nephews.
Greg was predeceased by his grandparents: Allan and Janie Keating, Murdock and Laura MacKenzie as well as one nephew: Scott Bowes.
As expressions of sympathy, in Greg’s memory, donations may be made to St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church Fund or the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later time.
