Obituary
NORMORE, Olive Tamsie May 9, 1939 – April 2, 2020. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother, Tamsie Normore, age 80, at Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center, St. John’s on Thursday, April 2, 2020. Predeceased by granddaughter Janine Powell, parents John Albert and Rosanna White, uncle John and aunt Theresa Caines, and brothers and sisters George Henry White, Minnie White, Cora White, Gideon White, and Theresa Baines
Tamsie (as she was known to family and friends) was the quintessential beacon of hope, strength, generosity, and inspiration of the Normore family unit. She regularly reminded us that most of our problems are not really problems, and to be always grateful for what we have. She taught us about kindness, patience, and unconditional love. The sadness, the grace, the joy, the memories are flooding our minds. Love is so powerful a force – the most wonderful gift that also gives us such deep sadness. To love and be loved is the greatest triumph of any life. Her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 60 years, Levi, daughter Wanita Powell (Cliff), daughter Wanda (Ford), son Anthony, daughter Wendy (Clayte), daughter Wilma (Barry), and her precious grandchildren who were the light of her life, Jonathan and Alexander Powell, Nicholas Taylor, Jestine and Jamie Coles, and Brandon and Jared Witherall, a special cousin Rosie McLean, a host of nieces and nephews, and a large circle of relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family and staff of Barrett’s Funeral Home encourage people to post their tributes and share photos, by visiting the online memorial guestbook at www.barretts.ca
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Olive Tamsie Normore 2020..
