Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Lois Patricia Slattery announces her passing which occurred at Shannex Tucker Hall on Monday, March 23, 2020, with her son and grandson at her side.
Born in Saint John, NB on September 29, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary Catherine (Ryan) MacKenney.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Edward, George, Calvin, Malcolm and Donnie and her sister Florence Lawrence.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son Erin Slattery (Candace) of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Talitha C. Kelley (Chris) of Miramichi, Katherine A. Bigney of Saint John and Ryan Thomas of Saint John; great grandson Austin Richard; her favorite person Lynn Ittner; several nieces and nephews.
Lois was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was an avid bowler and softball player which she held the record 7 at bat 7 homeruns at the Women’s Provincial softball tournament. She was also a representative of team New Brunswick and the first Canada Games. She worked as a interior decorator for many years.
A private family graveside service will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Lois may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
