In Loving Memory of
Lawrence “Lorne” Anderson
97 years
Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Villa.
Beloved husband of Anne Anderson (nee Elliott). Loving father of Sheila Fryer (Terry) and Eric Anderson (Donna). Cherished grandfather of Sara, Joel, Julia (Rob), and Britany, and great-grandchild Anders. Dear son of Louis and Sina (nee Erickson) Anderson both predeceased. Loving brother of Frank, William, Clarence, Axsel, Randall, Clifford, and Lillian, all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Lorne was an active part of the Sudbury community. He was a member of St. Stephens United Church, the Rotary Club, Masons, sang in the Northern Echo’s Choir and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76. Lorne and Anne were married for 69 years. They surrounded themselves relatives and friends who were welcome to drop by to enjoy a glass of wine and to share a good joke. Lorne and Anne spent 54 years at his most cherished place, his camp at ELSA Bay in Parry Sound. Lorne loved nature and was an avid gardener. He could often be found whistling bird calls on a walk, catching minnows, picking worms for fishing or tickling the paws of unsuspecting dogs. His curiosity for life never ended and he did not tire of hearing a great story. It was a life well lived. A special Thank You to the staff of St. Joseph’s Villa, Sunnyside, for the wonderful care during Lorne’s stay.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church would be appreciated. For donations and messages of condolence, www.lougheed.org.
