It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edward John Cook announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his family at St. Clare’s Hospital on March 19, 2020. Ed was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Ethel Cook and his parents-in-law Patrick and Isabelle Dawe. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend Carol Ann (Dawe), his devoted children, Robert and Heather, his sisters Ruby (Roy) Andrascik, Frances Cook Dearing and Linda Cook Ryan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Garry (Betty) Dawe, Dianne Tilley, Wayne (Cathy) Dawe, Neil (Corrina) Dawe, Randy (Christina) Dawe, Lynn (Terry) Dawe, Brian (Charmaine) Dawe and Yvonne Dawe (Lloyd Luby); a large number of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sahar Iqbal for her excellent care of Ed over the past few years, and for her kindness and compassion during this difficult time. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of 4 West for the wonderful care they gave Ed. Cremation has taken place. Due to restrictions on travel, his funeral service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to Ronald MacDonald House or The Salvation Army.
