Captain Carl P. d’Entremont
October 22, 1947-March 13, 2020
At age 72, of Lower West Pubnico, passed away at the Yarmouth
Regional Hospital on March 13, 2020. Born on October 22,
1947 he the son of the late Captain Harold and Cecile
d’Entremont of Lower West Pubnico. Carl is
survived by his wife Shirley (Amirault); sisters, Virginia (Gordon)
d’Eon of West Pubnico and Rhoda (Donnie) Jacquard of
Wedgeport; aunt, Marie Crowell of Bridgewater; nieces, Nicole, Tanya
and Claudell; nephews, Kevin, Shannon, Daniel and Joey; numerous
cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A master fisherman, Captain Carl will be remembered as the
Captain of the herring seiner MV ‘Mattuna
Mariner’.
Captain Carl had many hobbies; golfing, cards, hunting,
fly-fishing and sport shooting-a hobby that led him to earn the title
of Canadian Trap Champion of Champions in 1975 and a selection to the
1976 Olympic Trials.
Carl was cared for by the most compassionate and professional
doctors and nurses. The family is grateful for the many
hours given to Carl beyond the role they played to support his health
and wellbeing.
Donations in Carl’s memory can be made to the
Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or a charity of your
choice.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of West Pubnico
Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Middle West
Pubnico.
In respect to family and friend’s health, due to
the concerns surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, services for Carl
P. d’Entremont are postponed until a later date to be
announced.
