Obituary
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Bernhart Hofmann passed away in compassionate palliative care after a two-decade battle with cancer and valiant resistance to the ravages of dementia. Survived by Mara, his wife and soulmate of fifty-seven years; daughters, Barbara and Catherine; grandson, Benjamin; granddaughters, Jennifer and Georgia; and sister Lil Murray.
Born in Trail, BC, Bernie was an architectural technologist, city planner, and a 27-year public servant for the City of Edmonton. A skier, runner, cyclist, and dog lover, Bernie has been accompanied by his best friend, Sophia. A gentle soul, our precious Dad and Papa will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Predeceased by many friends and family. No formal service will be held.
“As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes,
For the wind passes over, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.”
Psalm 103:15-16
