Thelma’s Obituary
Dunphy, Thelma Mae – age 93 of Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, passed away March 9, 2020 in the Lodge. Born in River John, she was the daughter of the late Lawson G. and Florence B. (Bailey) Langille. Thelma married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life. They spent 73 years together, raising their 6 children who were their life’s pride and joy along with their grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Happiest times were spent around the kitchen table sharing stories, enjoying tea and mom’s home cooked meals. No one ever left home without a hug and reassurance that they were loved and special (and with a full belly). Thelma had a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes and a zest for life. She chose to look on the bright side of life, seeing good and the positive in every person. She loved going to the dances with friends and loved each and every one of them. She opened her heart and home to many and truly appreciated her life and felt very blessed. She is survived by her children, Brian (Sharon), Phyllis (Ross) Lepper and Ron (Beth); many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Florence and Vivian; sisters-in-law, Marie Brown, Eileen Langille and Connie Langille; brother-in-law, Bill MacDonald; many dear nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, James “Jimmie”; sons, Donnie, Clayton and David; siblings, Hilda, Jennie, Nellie, a sister in infancy, Mary, Reg, Arnold, Phyllis, Flora and Percy. Visitation will be held from 1-5:30 p.m. Friday, March 13th in Coulter’s Funeral Home (902-657-3288), Tatamagouche with prayers being offered at 3 O’clock. No funeral service to be held. Burial for Thelma and Jimmie will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations to the palliative care room at Willow Lodge or Forest Hill Cemetery would be appreciated.
