Samuel Charles “Sam” Mulholland
October 10, 1929 – March 6, 2020
With his children at his side at home, on Friday, March 6th, Sam C. Mulholland peacefully passed away. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (nee Abrams) he is survived by his daughter Jane (Richard Shannon) of Milford and son, Samuel R. of Picton and father-in-law of Lynda of Belleville. Loved and very proud of his granddaughters Brittany (Dustin Putman), Samantha (Josh Carney) and Jessica (Justin Suddard) and his great grandchildren who gave him such happiness and joy: Hendrix, Torsten, Margaret, Gwyneth, Miriam and Nora. Dear brother of Douglas (late Ethel) of Kingston, Reginald (Shelly) of Leamington and Lynda (Art Schroeder) of Kingston; brother-in-law of Rhea Abrams (late Cecil) of Kingston. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Sam enjoyed sports both as an accomplished player and coach his entire life. He had a keen interest in horse racing as a driver, trainer and breeder of standardbreds – a family legacy inherited and passed on. Sam had an infectious laugh and a spontaneous sense of humour that he shared unreservedly with his family and friends as well as his co-workers in his 32 years at Lake Ontario Cement Limited.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. Peter Johannsson, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital staff during his recent hospital stay and Prince Edward Family Health Team nursing and personal care workers for their dedication to Sam’s care during his final days at home.
At Sam’s request a cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. A private family service will take place at Desert Lake later this spring. Memorial donations to the PECMH Foundation ‘New Build’ Program or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Samuel Charles Sam Mulholland October 10 1929 March 6 2020..
