Obituary for
Sheila Wile (Stewart)
Wile, Sheila (Stewart) – Fletchers Lake, age 69 passed away on March 6, 2020 at the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building in Halifax. Sheila was born on June 1, 1950 to James McIntosh Stewart and Mary McNeil (Bryce) in Lennoxtown, Scotland.
Sheila is survived by her husband Barry, sister Betty Andrews (Morris), a daughter Lynda (Bryan) Hill, a granddaughter Maggie Hill, a son David McSeveney, step children Cindy, Grace, Joesph, 6 step grandchildren, and 2 step great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by her parents, sisters May Thomson (Robert) and Ruby Rae (Hugh).
Until her retirement, Sheila was employed at Dalhousie Law School as a Secretarial Supervisor and Secretary to the Chair of Graduate Studies. She was well-liked by the Graduate Students and in 2003 she was awarded the ROSEMARY GILL AWARD for Outstanding Service to Students.
Sheila was an avid knitter all of her life and enjoyed knitting for her family and friends. She also served for a time as the Secretary of the Colchester Scottish Society. She enjoyed Scottish Country Dancing and after she retired, she took up bowling, line dancing, and being a part of the Knitters group.
We would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of both the Halifax Infirmary floor 8.2 and Abbie J. Lane floor 9. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread in Scotland at a later date. There will be a Celebration of Sheila’s Life at the Riverview United Church, 760 Highway #2, Elmsdale on Friday, March 13 from 7 -9 p.m. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
