Beatrice Irene Howell
1936-2020
Bea Howell of Nackawic, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital on March 4, 2020. Bea was born on March 18, 1936 in Saint
John, NB, a daughter of the late Wilbert and Alice (Bartlett) Pike.
Bea was a quiet soul, an avid reader, great cook, curling enthusiast
and devoted friend. In her younger years she had a beautiful singing
voice and attended Zion Bible College. She attended business college,
worked in banking and her and Don ran a curling rink in St.
Catharines, Ontario. Bea worked for Ontario Pulp and Paper before
moving to Nackawic in 1970. She was an accomplished seamstress and use
to teach sewing. She raised her children and then worked as a
supervisor at Kings Landing for several years. Bea adored her children
and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was especially close to
her granddaughters and of late to her four wonderful Howell grandsons.
She enjoyed becoming a close part of her daughter-in-law’s
family and spent many wonderful times with Carolyn, Neal and Chris
Kerton. Bea was a founding member of Tops #4242 in Nackawic and it was
an important part of her life for 30 years.
Bea is survived by a daughter, Dawn Louise Rae (Eugene), Edmonton, AB;
a son, John F. B. Howell. (Karen), Nackawic, NB; two granddaughters,
Tiffany Walker (Bruce) Edmonton. AB, and Abbey Arbeau (Travis), Grande
Prairie, AB; four grandsons, Brandon Howell, Dylan Howell (Megan),
Caden Howell (Rachael) and Karsen Howell (Grace); three great
grandchildren, Deacon, Jennine, and Bennett; precious sisters Bettina
Voth (late Ernie) and Joan Hotson (Alex); several nieces, nephews and
cousins; her close friends June and Tony Brewer, Doreen Graham and
Janet Hawkins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald
Thomas Howell; her brothers-in-law Ivor Thistle, Ernie Voth, Jack and
Fred Howell, Dennis Twaddle.
Honoring Bea’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral
service.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Bea, the family has
suggested The Nackawic Public-School Library or DunRoamin’ Stray
and Rescue.
