Obituary of Richard Woodley
On the morning of February 26, 2020, Dick Woodley passed away from a stroke.
Born on December 6, 1943 weighing in at 11 lbs., he was Mildred and Ted’s first red haired son.
Siblings to Judy (Ken), Bill (Debra) and predeceased by Mark.
Uncle to Meagan, Bryn, Dan, Ian, Kyle, Owen, Noah, and great uncle to Annie.
Wonderful friend to Paul Kirby who became his care person after Mark died. He was like another brother to Dick.
Dick was a Ridgetown guy through and through. Everyone knew him. It took Dick an hour to get down the street. Pinnell’s was a favourite stop for a hot sticky donut.
He loved Rondeau. A daily float in the water brought a smile to his face after a day at the experimental farm working in the piggery. He loved his houseboat, watching the sun go down without leaving the dock.
His Hellyer cousins loved Dick’s stories. He had quite an imagination and how he loved the attention.
Dick became lonely when he lost his mom and brother. They were his life. Now they will sit together again and Dick will have a new batch of stories to tell.
We will all miss him. He loved us all.
Cremation has taken place with an interment at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Dick to a charity of choice would greatly appreciated.
