Obituary of Fred (Fedonos) Klidaras
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred (Fendono) Klidaras, which occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at his residence in Fredericton, NB. Born on February 4, 1929, in Greece, he was the son of the late Christodoulos and Katina (Asteriou) Klidaras. Fred was predeceased by his family.
After serving in the Second World War, Fred immigrated to Toronto and then moved to Fredericton in 1970 to work in the Chemistry Department at the University of New Brunswick. Upon his retirement, Fred established scholarships for students in Greece. Fred was proud of his healthy lifestyle and exercise program. Many would recognize him walking along the Lincoln Road or highway, wearing his bright orange vest and waving at all who passed.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, (634-7425) where visitation will take place on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 12:00 PM, from the Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery following the service. Remembrances in Fred’s name may be made to the Salvation Army. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
