Caroline Borodawka
1931-2020
Mrs. Caroline Borodawka of Athabasca, beloved mother of Dwayne Borodawka, passed away peacefully at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Caroline was a lady of many talents; loving to knit and crochet, and spending her earlier days cooking the most wonderful of lunches and dinners, filled with heart-warming Ukrainian food. Even in her last days, she would light up when she was brought perogies, cabbage rolls or borscht up at the hospital. Caroline loved to garden, always having the most pristine yard and flower beds; she put so much love into her gardens that the neighborhood cats in her flowerbeds soon became a cause of frustration. Yet, even with all that she did to keep herself busy her family was always the most important. Raising her children and looking after her grandchildren was what she cherished most; attending holidays and birthdays, spending the day shopping, or just spending the afternoon at a restaurant over lunch. She was so deeply loved by all of her family, there will always be a void left in her absence.
Caroline leaves behind to mourn, her son Dwayne Borodawka, grandchildren; Nathan Borodawka and Christopher Borodawka, her daughter-in-law Michele Borodawka – Belcourt, and one great-grandchild arriving in the spring that she was very much looking forward to, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Caroline was predeceased by her parents; Katherine and Edward Nimco, sister Rosella Galbreath, brother Baby Reg, brother Reginald Nimco, as well as her son Neal Borodawka.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 28, 2020, at the St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Paulson officiating.
