Forbes, Allan Douglas of Yarmouth, NS passed away peacefully in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on February 25,2020. Born March 26,1930, Allan grew up in Yarmouth and worked as a well-respected mechanic in both Yarmouth and Oshawa, Ontario. He will be well remembered for the love of his family. He enjoyed making things with wood and doing jigsaw puzzles. Everything he put his hand to was done with excellence. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Carol (Gray) of Plymouth; sons, Ronald, Burnaby, B.C ; Randy (Alma) , Sus, N.B ;daughters, Elizabeth (Bill) Cody, Lucknow, ON.; Meredith, Oshawa, ON. ; Lisa (Armand) d’Entremont, Lower Argyle; brother, John (Jacque), Bowmanville, ON.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grand children; 5 great great grandchildren, and close friend to the family, Nancy Shaw. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Amelia (Hawes) Forbes; brothers, Allison; David; Donald; sister, Marilee. Visitation will take place Monday, March 2,2020 from 1-2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Randy Forbes officiating. Interment to take place in the Plymouth Cemetery. Reception to follow interment at the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the mission work in Central Asia, C/O Yarmouth Wesleyan Church.
