Obituary
Rod grew up in Ponoka, and lived and worked in various locations throughout Alberta as a waiter, manager, group home aide, and electrician. He loved to be creative with his art and cooking, and was passionate about travel, art, friends, chess, and backgammon. He was an independent free spirit, and always generous with what he had to offer.
Rod is lovingly remembered by his son Orey (Mudita) Goudreault and his grandchildren Mason and Nova. Also by his parents Linda and Berni Steinmann, his sister Melodie (Craig) Woods and their children Shannon (Lee) Kocyba and Mitchell (Alyssa) Woods, his brother Darin (Karen) Steinmann and their children Derek Steinmann, Chelsea (Randy) Leblanc, Samantha (Jeff) Meadows, Evan and Meghan Penner, and his sister Serena (Rob) Steinmann-Russell and their children Heather Steinmann, James, Simon and River Russell, as well as his 7 great nieces and nephews.
Rod’s Celebration of Life will be at the Ponoka United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
Donations in Rod’s memory may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
