Mary Elizabeth Foote Friday February 21st 2020

Mary Elizabeth Foote, 77, of Timberlea, Nova Scotia passed away on February 21st in Halifax. Beth had an accomplished career as a teacher, and as a school principal. Early in her career, she obtained her M.Ed and deeply loved teaching. She spent many years volunteering with the Girl Guides and was an active member of Saint Andrew’s Church. Beth was a vibrant woman that enjoyed life to the fullest. After retirement, Beth traveled the world with her husband, Bob, something she sincerely loved. She was an avid swimmer and loved spending time at the beach with her dear friends. She also enjoyed music and singing and loved the theatre. Beth’s home was a hub for family and friends – her spirit of generosity and hospitable nature meant that everyone always felt welcome. She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Kevin), son, Duncan (Jenny) and her adored grandchildren, Lucy, Simon and Colin, her siblings Barry, Keith, Brian, and Beverley, sisters-in-laws Linda and Judi, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by husband Robert, and sister, Judy. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 27 in Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church (2552 St Margarets Bay Rd, Timberlea). Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church, Timberlea, or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. A special thanks to the staff at Drummond Hall for their kindness and care.
