Helen’s Obituary
Helen Elizabeth Nearing (nee Fornal) was born July 8, 1941. She passed away peacefully February 25, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born in Bruce to John and Mary Fornal.
Helen and Archie married in Bruce on August 19, 1961. They moved to the Nearing family farm, where she enjoyed the farm life. To this union the three children were born, Clint, Sara, and Nancy. She enjoyed everything including the horses, the kids 4H, ringette, card parties, and activities at Maple Lodge community. Archie and Helen enjoyed travelling and camping/fishing. Helen didn’t have the easiest life, but she wasn’t one to ever complain. At an early age she was struck by polio, and spent time in an iron lung. She also battled and beat cancer. After the four grandchildren were born she enjoyed the numerous activities they were a part of. Since Helen never got her drivers licence, she relied on others to get around. We are forever grateful for her sister Emily and her brother Joe, those 3 travelled more places than most of us ever will, New York, Nashville, Vegas, Reno, Hawaii, Phoenix, Texas, Montana, and places in between. Also thanks to her bingo and casino buddy Joyce.
She is survived by Son Clint Nearing, Daughters Sara (Rick) Ploc, Nancy (Allan) Anderson. Grandkids Tricia, Taylor, Rhett, and Julie. Sister Emily Lefsrud, Brothers Mike Fornal, Frank (Debbie) Fornal, Joe Fornal, Eddy (Annemarie) Fornal, sister-in-law Connie Fornal, brother in law Bob (Peggy) Nearing, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Archie, parents John and Mary Fornal, sister Anne Sager, brothers Stanley Fornal, Louis Fornal, Teddy Fornal. Parents-in-law Bud and Agnes Nearing. Brothers-in-law Joe Sager, Joe Lefsrud, Edgar Nearing. Sisters-in-law Rose Fornal, Flo Fornal. Niece Joanne Sager.
In keeping with Helens wishes there will be no service. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
