Gordon Lavern Bigam, age 77, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at his home in Mission, BC. He leaves behind his life partner, Lynda Anderson. They had spent the last 23 years dedicating their time to one another. Gordie also leaves behind his brother Ronnie Bigam (Ruth-Anne), two sons, Christopher Bigam, and Darcy Bigam, daughter in-law, Linda Black, step-daughter Marlo Popoff (Lenny), and four beloved grandsons, Michael Bigam (Akayla), Trevor Bigam (Jenn), Jake Popoff (Katie), Jesse Popoff.
Gordon aka Gordie or Gordo, was born Aug 3, 1942, in Milbank, Ontario to Lorne and Catherine Bigam. Gordie had many talents and one was the gift of a green thumb. His back yard was full of flowers and colour a plenty. He was also member of the Construction & Specialized Works Union Local 1611, dominating the refractory industry with his knowledge and experience. He was loved and cherished by all his co-workers whom all became life long friends. He touched so many lives with his witty sarcasm and sense of humor. He was also a member of the Mission Elks #30 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 57, where every Monday and Tuesday he could be seen behind the bar making the best caesars, with the come back comment to the requestor; “add your own poison!”
He is probably sitting at a bar in heaven having a caesar right now looking down on all of us saying, “don’t weep, just drink!”
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Mission Legion Branch 57.
