Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Blantford Winslow Nickerson which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020. Born 1953, in Lower Clark’s Harbour, NS, he was the son of the late Folton and Rosemond (Atkinson) Nickerson. Blantford worked as a Truck Driver with Sunbury Transport and RST for 30 years. He loved attending the old Saint John Flames and Seadogs hockey games with his family, especially his son Scott. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique cars and tinkering with vehicles. Family was most important to him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Blantford is survived by his son Scott Nickerson (Sherri Charlton) of Medicine Hat, AB; daughter Stacey Richard (Derrick) of Hampton; brothers Kevin Nickerson (Colleen Fudge) of Saint John, Terry Nickerson of Brown’s Flat, Bobby Nickerson (Melissa Anderson) of Nerepis; sister Denene Nickerson (Blair Reid) of Saint John; grandchildren Rebecca and Ryan; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Blantford was predeceased by his brother Alvin and niece Jessica.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, February 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Blantford may be made to Ducks Unlimited or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
