Peacefully, in her sleep at West Lake Terrace in Prince Edward County, on Friday, February 21st, 2020, Betty Evans (nee Ferguson) passed away at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Richard (Dick) Evans. Loving and adored mother of Patricia Evans of Picton; Liz and her husband Glynne Jones of Picton; Richard Evans and his wife Debeora of Colorado; David Evans and his late wife Kathy of Wellington; and Jane and her husband Terry Costaris of Caledon. Dear sister of Kenneth Ferguson and his late wife Loretta of Lake on the Mountain. Predeceased by her sister Phyllis and husband William (Bill) Bailey of London. Sweet and cherished Nana to Greg (Leona), Ian (Amber), Meghan (Andrew), Carly (Rob), Stuart (Kristen), Beth, Richard, Claire and Kate. Proud Great-Nana to Nola, Emma, Evan and Harper.
Betty was a Past President of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and later President of the South East Region of the Ontario Hospital Auxiliary Association. She was awarded a life membership to the Ontario Hospital Auxiliary Association.
Betty is resting at the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main St., Picton. Funeral Service will be held at Picton United Church on Friday March 6th, 2020 at 11:00am. The Reverend Phil Hobbs officiating. Spring interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm. at the funeral home.
