Gordon James Ovens
passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Arthur with his children by his side on February 20, 2020. Loving father to Steven (Janet) Ovens and Deanne (Ron) Saunders. Stepfather to Helen Winfield and Martin Devitt. Proud Grandpa to Ashley, Tyler, Benjamin, Jacob, Kyle and Jamie. Dear brother of Annie (Bob) Proctor, Harold, Edward, and Donna Watt. Predeceased by his first wife Vera and second wife Jean, his parents Walter and Lizzie Ovens, sisters Dorothy Hewitson, Marion Brown, sister-in-law Judy Ovens, brother-in-law Don Watt and Ted Hewitson. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends. Gord’s family sincerely thanks the staff at Caressant Care for their loving care during his years with them.
A memorial service will be held in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Arthur.
