Obituary
Sharon Lorraine Bateman, age 70, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Raising six children, her love for her family was evident. She was a devoted friend and touched the lives of many along her journey, in particular within her Moose Jaw church family.
Ill health hit early for Sharon and she endured Lupus disease for over 40 years. The disease took a toll on her body, but her courage, strength, and commitment to her children and close friends always remained.
Sharon is survived by her brother Brian Bateman (Evelyn); six children: Tamica Johnstone (Tyson), Shannon Coco (Mike), Rachael Young (Paul), Ryan Johnstone (Stephanie), Daniel Spicer (Josh), and Sarah Hames (Bryce); ten grandchildren: Jordan (Tamara), Eden Perry-Young, Emelia Wallin (Casey), Atticus Young, Mereno Coco, Dante Coco, Bella Coco, Georgia Hames, Roslyn Hames, and Brynnley Hames; and three great grandchildren: Luke Johnstone, Vaida Perry-Young, and Harper Wallin.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing staff at Moog and Friends Hospice House. Their love and kindness towards our mother during her last days was remarkable.
Sharon had requested that there be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lupus Canada, c/o 306-615 Davis Dr., Newmarket, ON L3Y 2R2 or Moog and Friends Hospice House, c/o Penticton & District Hospice Society, 129 Nanaimo W., Penticton, BC V2A 1N2.
