Aric’s Obituary
Buchanan, Aric Wayne-72 of Jordan Bay: With his wife near his side and with heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and extended family. Born in Sandy Point, Aric was a son of the late Evie and Arch Hemeon, and was raised by his grandparents, Pearl (Nan) and Frank (Dad) Hemeon. His working life included a number of jobs, mostly in the fishing industry, with scallop fishing and having his own lobster boat until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 32 years, daughters Tammy (Harley), Lori (Frank), Kim (Conrad), grandson Ryan (Sheena) and children Lilly and Jordynn, granddaughters; Megan (Billy) their children Lacey and Landon; Taylor (Jacob), and Alex; sister Heather (Jeff), and their children Melanie (Dennis), and their children Matthew and Leah, and Devin (Morgan), and Aunt Ida (Ross) Aric was a brother and uncle to his in-law Thorburn family- Brenda (Wayne) and daughter Jennifer, Lyman (Cathy) and their children Cory (Rochelle) and Kim (Dave) and their son Jayden, Lawrence (Irene) and children Jeremy (Doodle) and Emily (Cory) and their children Delilah and Chevelle, and Allan. He is also leaving behind his extended family Allan (Karen) and their children Tristen and Brayden, Roseanne (Bernard) and Paul (Shirley). Besides his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by brothers Kevin and William and his fur companion, Buddy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd. At Aric’s request there will be no visitation or memorial service. There will be a graveside service in Ocean View Cemetery on Sunday, February 16 at 2pm with Troy Nixon officiating, for immediate family, extended family, Jordan Bay and special friends. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Ocean View Cemetery, c/o Carolyn Acker, 3450 Sandy Point Road, Shelburne, N.S B0T 1W0 or a charity of choice.
