Charles Cooney 2020

It is with profound sadness that the family of Charles Cooney announce his peaceful passing on February 5, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
He will lovingly be remembered by his children Patrick and Michael Cooney; grandchildren Amanda and Meaghan Cooney; as well as the many relatives and friends in his life. He will also be dearly missed by both staff and residents at the Jasper Place Continuing Care Center.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Margaret Cooney; and his parents Joseph and Edna Cooney.
Charles was born in Glenn Ewen Saskatchewan on November 30, 1927 where he spent most of his childhood, until moving to Winnipeg at the age of 19. At this time he had joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a photographer, later becoming a paramedic with the RCAF ParaRescue Squadron. His service took Charles across Canada, until he and his family settled in Edmonton, Alberta.
A funeral service will be held at the Kingsway Legion, 14339 50 Street NW, Edmonton, on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.
Memorial Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choosing.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Jasper Place Continuing Care Center for their care and compassion during the time Charles spent there.
