Obituary of Leona Sharrin Bugg
Leona Sharrin Bugg passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 28, 2020 at the age of 71.
Leona was born February 14, 1948 the first daughter of Cornelius & Susanna Schroeder in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. The family moved to Vanderhoof, B.C., in 1951 as part of the Co-op farmers at Braeside.
Leona and Garry lived in Mackenzie, B.C., where they raised four children. Leona worked as a Secretary for most of her time there at Mac 1 Elementary School. It was at this job she made a lot of friends and delighted in making beautiful bulletin boards for students and staff to enjoy as well as celebrating her Valentines Birthday with them.
Leona and Garry enjoyed many activities together, golfing, hiking, cross-country skiing and square & round dancing. There was very little time that they spent apart.
Leona is survived by her loving husband Garry, daughters Tami (Jeff Normandeau), Amie (James Killam), Shannon (Dave Moody) and one son Jim (Anita). Also, by her ten grandchildren Jesse Normandeau, Brandon Bugg, Zachary Killam, Levi (Amber) Normandeau, Orry Killam, Jacob (Alisha) Normandeau, Marlee Killam, Riley Bugg, Jayden Moody and Markus Bugg, her two great-grandchildren Freya Killam and Josiah Normandeau.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Leona’s friends and family on what would have been her 72nd Birthday, February 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm at 121C – 6 Street NW Cranbrook, B.C.
