Obituary of Leonard Hanson
Leonard John Oscar Hanson of Assiniboia passed away on February 4, 2020 at the age of 75. Len was born in Central Butte and raised on a nearby farm. After attending school in Central Butte, he began his career in the auto parts industry; working in the profession all his life. He owned Superior Auto in Maple Creek and upon his retirement, he found himself managing Great West Auto in Assiniboia until the time of his death. He loved to spend time with his family, whether it was at the cabin or by the lake and he always found time to play with and tease the younger kids. Len easily made friends wherever he went and as an avid card player he never lacked opportunities to get together with friends. Len is predeceased by his daughter Kerry, sister Anne, and parents Richard and Agnes. He is survived by his son Duke; daughter Krista; grandchildren Angie, Kayliegh, Michael, and Johanna; great granddaughters Arianna and Jayah; brothers Andrew and Roy; sisters Dorothy Mantell and Faye Biggs, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Len’s life will be held at W. J. Jones Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 10:30am. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment to take place at Eden Brook Memorial Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta at a later date. For those wishing, memorial donations may be directed to Moose Jaw Health Foundation. In living memory of Leonard, a memorial planting will be made by Jones – Parkview Funeral Services.
