Sherry was born on March 30, 1927 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and passed away on January 31, 2020 at Stittsville Villa. Much loved wife of 72 years to late Joseph William Thompson (March 1, 2019). Cherished Mom of Shauna Lee and late Rick (April 21, 2010). Proud grandmother of Rebecca Lee and B.J. of Russell, ON. She was predeceased by her parents William Burton Buchanan, from Glencoe, Scotland and Della (nee Holloway) Buchanan from Wisconsin. Sherry was a hairdresser, she loved interacting with her clients, listening to their stories. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-word puzzles. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Stittsville Villa, where Mom enjoyed spending the past few months. A Memorial Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honour of her beloved Joe to the Perley & Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre. Online condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com
