Obituary of Maria Smyth
SMYTH, Maria – Maria passed away peacefully with family by her side at Afton Park Place on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Smyth for 55 years. Loving mother of Mary (Ron) Benn, Brendan (Caroline) and Vincent Jr. (Tracy); and mother-in-law of Ronda and Beverly. Cherished grandmother to Sean, Kevin, Darcy, Leanne, Shannon, Ward, Ross, Madison, Ryan, Kyle and Conor and great-grandmother of 2. Sister of Norah Painter (late Aubrey) and Henry Duggan (late May). Special aunt of Mary DeSwert (Guy). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews in Ireland. Predeceased by her sons Michael, James, Vincent Andrew and by many brothers and sisters. There will be no funeral home visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Entombment of ashes at Resurrection Mausoleum at a later date. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Society of the Little Flower, 7020 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2G 7B7.
