Retired Air Canada Captain
Born in Manitoba on March 8, 1935, a son of the late Bill and Ethel (nee Gibson) Stewart, Reginald Stewart passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
A longtime resident of Meaford, Reginald leaves behind his loving wife of some 56 years Marie (nee Campbell), son Glen and daughter-in-law Michelle, son John and daughter-in-law Tracy and son Todd. He will be sadly missed by his five grandsons: Gregory, Brandon, Riley, Conor and Kyle.
Reginald is fondly remembered by brothers Norm (Betty) and Wilt (Julie) and was predeceased by brothers Jim (Dorothy) and Murray (Wanitta) and will be recalled as a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews and their families.
Reginald was an accomplished pilot who served with the RCAF and who twice broke the speed of sound retiring from his flying career as a Captain with Air Canada for many years.
Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of Reginald’s life will be held at a later date.
