Louise Broders Keefe Tuesday January 28th 2020

The community of Tilting lost a great person on January 28th, 2020 with the passing of an iconic woman, Louise Broders. To her children Louise was the epitome of what a mother should be, always giving unconditional love, unwavering support, and infinite optimism. Her laughter filled any room and her witty sense of humour will never be forgotten. She was so well loved and she loved so well.
There are symbols in her life that represented beliefs that were central to her character: her relentless faith, her very witty sense of humour, her love of hockey, especially the Montreal Canadians, her peas soup on Saturdays and cooked dinner on Sundays, her love of music, and her love of the great outdoors. Her ability to persevere during difficult times was fueled by her faith and determination; she was a lesson to all of us to never feel defeated.
Louise was predeceased by: husband Kevin; sons: Ignatius and Aidan; son-in law Anthony Allsion; grandson Jodey Broders; parents James and Isabella Keefe; brothers: Allan and David O’Keefe; sisters: Alice Mayhood, Evelyn Snook, Gracie and Margaret Keefe.
Left to mourn: her sons: James (Isabel), Martin (Shirley), Brendan (Brenda), and Ron; daughters: Maybelle Gill (Heber), Margaret Allison (Eric) and Jo Anne Broders; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister-in law Mary O’Keefe; special friend, Isabel Torraville; as well as a large circle of relatives, friends, the community family of Tilting and the town of Fogo Island.
Thank you: Thank you to Father Anthony Aikins, the doctors and staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital and Fogo Island Health Care Centre for their professionalism and care. Your thoughtfulness and caring meant so much and shall be remembered always. To the people of Tilting and Fogo Island infinite thanks and praise for visiting Mom and supporting her this past year, we are humbled by all of you have done.
