MELANSON, Mederic – Age 83 of Grosses Coques, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Grosses Coques, he was a son of the late Isaac and Marguerite (Deveau) Melanson. Mederic was a scallop fisherman for many years on the Comeau’s Sea Foods boats. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; step-children Bruce, Christine, Bill, Jill and Diane, all in B.C.; several step-grandchildren; other family members and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Albert, Irené, André, Mande; sisters, Lucy, Nora. Cremation has taken place under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
