It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Allan Fraser at the age of 80 years after a sudden cancer diagnosis. He is lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Nancy, of 37 years; his children, James (Liz), Tim, Chris, Amy (Joe) Robson, Colin, Sheldon, Alana (Jarrett) Harbidge; 7 grandchildren; brother, Cecil (Pamela); step-mom, Izora Fraser; cousins, Dianne Campbell and family and Jim Fairweather. Allan was born in Montreal, QB. Allan and his family lived in several places in the US, before settling in Symon’s Valley with his grandparents James and Jamesena Fairweather. He began farming at a young age and continued that as his passion and life’s work. He also had a passion for flying and sailing, and kept his private pilot’s license. He was active in many organizations throughout his life, to name a few; Rockyview Gas Co-op, Hail Suppression Board, Vice Chair of the Alberta Feeder Association, Agriculture and Food Counsel, and most recently Chair of the Board of the Balzac United Church.
Sincere appreciation to the first responders from Crossfield and Carstairs who assisted with his care. Also a sincere thank you to the staff at the Foothills Medical Centre who provided excellent and compassionate care. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 1:00pm, at the Crossfield Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Balzac United Church.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ronald Allan Fraser January 25th 2020..
