Obituary of David Brenton Meadows
Meadows, David Brenton – age 80, passed away in Vancouver, BC on January 25th, 2020.
Born in Stewiacke, he was the son of the late Horace and Winnifred Meadows.
David is survived by sisters, Margaret Anne Ashcroft (John) and Heather Wright (David); as well as three nephews and three nieces.
His partner of 50 years, Paul Tooke, predeceased David in October, 2019.
In his younger years, David worked at the Grill in Stewiacke and Canadian Tire in Truro before moving to Montreal and becoming an LPN. He worked in Montreal for several years. He moved to Calgary and then to Vancouver, working at St. Paul’s Hospital from where he retired.
David later became an out – patient in the kidney dialysis unit three days a week until his death. He had many friends at the unit and was considered to be a very special person by the unit staff. David loved music, was a great dancer, and will always be remembered by family and friends for his outgoing personality and sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.
A graveside service will be held 3pm Thursday, August 6th in Pine Grove Cemetery, East Stewiacke. All are welcome to come and celebrate David’s life.
Covid 19 restrictions will be followed. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged.
