Christiane Bertha Therese Berner May 21 1968 – December 21 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, auntie and friend Christiane. She died peacefully at the age of 52, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her parents (Monique/Andre), brothers (Robert/John), sister-in-law (Cathy), nieces, nephews, friends and companion Max.
Christiane grew up in Vancouver and graduated with a Master’s in Education. She was a very private person, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and close friends, enjoying excellent food, drink and conversation or else running through the endowment lands at UBC with her dog Max. We are comforted to know that she is now in heaven, with her beloved Grandparents.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Good Shepherd Church in Surrey, BC. Only family may attend, due to Covid-19 restrictions, but prayers are most welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Christiane’s memory, to the BC Cancer Agency bccancerfoundation.com/ways-donate or to the Peace Arch Hospice Society, directed to Melville Hospice Home Comfort Fund 604-531-7484.
Christiane will be greatly missed, but forever remembered in our hearts. “When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.”-unknown
