Obituary
HEWITT, Helen Kathleen – On Dec. 30, 2020 at the Woodstock Hospital at the age of 73. Helen loved her children Rebecca (Bruce Cullen) and Stephen (Emily). She was a proud Nana to Hayden, Amelia, Lindsay, and Sean and will be smiling down on her new granddaughter when she arrives. A dear sister of Pat (Mike) Tarcza and beloved cousin to Sue Harden, Helen cherished her aunt Jean Brown. Predeceased by her sister Judi (1966) and parents Ike and Kay Hewitt of Delhi. Helen was a strong and independent role model who dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for other people. A remarkable Registered Nurse for over 30 years, Helen cared for ICU patients at the Woodstock Hospital and was a Founding/Chartered member of the Ontario Nurses Association. She loved her “Nursing Family” and was a devoted mentor, fierce friend, and trusted second mom to many. Whether working in her garden or travelling abroad, Helen never stopped living her life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later at the Delhi Cemetery. Helen requested memorial contributions be made to V.O.N. Sakura House or Doctors Without Borders and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004. Expressions of love and sympathy may be given at www.brockandvisser.com
