Born on St. Patrick’s Day 1947, in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, Patricia “Pat” (Ploughman) Sparrow lived every day with enthusiasm and the ‘Luck of the Irish’. Always ready with an astute observation or a joke, Pat’s laughter, wit, and positivity were bestowed upon all the lives she graced. A woman of strong faith and immeasurable love and understanding, Pat peacefully lost her battle with cancer at home in Middle Cove, NL on Sunday, December 27, 2020. As was her wish, her loving husband of 49 years, Bernard, was by her side along with her family as she passed from this life.
Leaving to mourn are her husband Bernard, her mother Winifred, her children: Lynanne (Pieter), Mark (Julie), Jason (Julia), and Bryan (Erin). She leaves behind her precious grandchildren to whom she was devoted: Nathan, Chloe, Allison, Lila and Callum. Her siblings, Eileen (Kevin), Pauline (Sam), Jim (Michelle), Helen (Rob), Joan (Don), Fred (Lynn), her brother-in-law David and her nieces and nephews mourn her loss. She also leaves to mourn cousins in Ireland, England, France and California and her dearest friends in NL, Canada and UK. Pat is predeceased by her father, Fred, and her sister, Marie.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Rd, on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Funeral Liturgy held on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at 11 AM from Mary Queen of Peace Church on Torbay Rd.
