Obituary of Henry Paul Nagel
Henry Paul Nagel January 18, 1928 – December 26, 2020
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Paul Nagel, long-time resident of the Briar Ridge area, at the age of 92. Henry was born at home in the Milk River, Alberta area, the first-born son of Henry and Emma Nagel. He had 3 younger siblings.
Henry married the love of his life, Patsy Clearwaters, on August 7, 1952, and they raised four daughters on the farm. Henry was a talented mechanic, heavy equipment operator and inventor of helpful machines. He was always willing to help anyone with anything. Over the years, his mixed farm included Hereford cattle, chickens, pigs, geese, horses and even reindeer later on. In his retirement, Henry found some old tractors and enjoyed restoring them to their original condition, and operating them at sod-turning events at local fairs. His grandchildren remember his quiet toughness and the girls say he was one of the best dance partners they ever had.
Henry was pre-deceased by his parents Henry & Emma, his brothers Stanley George and Albert John. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 68+ years, Patsy, his daughters, Pauline Lea (Gordon), Sally Barkwell (Grant), Chris Haddow (Randy) and Vikki Ross (Kelly), his 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, his sister Ruth Hunder and many relatives and friends.
In keeping with current Covid-19 restrictions, a service to celebrate Henry’s life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Henry’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Henry’s family would like to thank his long time physician, Dr. Jim Hargreaves, Jerome Lake, Community Paramedic, the Rapid Nursing Team of Home Care, Bayshore Home Health, Reverend Marilyn Carroll, and the many special friends who have offered support.
Very Respectfully, reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Henry
