Obituary of Gladys Louise Sheridan
Gladys Louise Sheridan (nee Greves) was born in April, 1924 in Tugaske, Saskatchewan to Percy and Janet Greves. Gladys grew up in Tugaske, and met her future husband, Grant, through the United Church there. Grant and Gladys were married November 13, 1950. They started married life in Tisdale and had 4 children, Lorna (1952), Joan (1954), Jim (1955) and Carol (1959).
On July 7, 1969 Grant, Gladys and kids moved to Nipawin Saskatchewan. Over the years, Gladys provided in-home child care, worked for Clarke’s Menswear andShoe Store and took in borders all while raising her children. Her most memorable role was that of Welcome Wagon Hostess for 26 years which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was well known and respected in Nipawin because of that role. During her spare time she was involved in the United Church, the Rebecca’s, and the Nipawin Hospital Auxillary.
She greatly enjoyed curling and gardening. She also enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In August of 2018 Gladys moved into the Arborfield & District Health Care Centre. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers who have cared for our Mother over the last years.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents Percy and Janet, two brothers, Richard and Roy, her husband Grant, and sons-in-law Eldon Brick and Harvey Harder.
She is survived and deeply missed by her children Lorna (Brick) and her husband Jim Metherell and her 4 children, Barry, Bonita (Garth) Rokosh-Brick, Rory, and Patrick (Amy) Brick; Joan Harder and her 3 children, Chloe (Kelly) Tiessen, Juanita (Kyle) Ward and Vicky-lee (Tim) Hosaluk; Jim (Faye) Sheridan, and his 2 children, Tyler and Felicia; and Carol (Kurt) Sorenson and her 3 children, Kirstine (Eric Olesen) Sorenson, Carsten and Christoffer. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by numerous extended family members.
Gladys was always busy and always helping people. She is missed.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gladys
