Obituary of Patricia Ann Harrison
Harrison, Patricia Ann
Patricia Ann Harrison has joined her husband Burns in heaven in her 87th year on December 24, 2020. She was the eldest daughter of Vincent and Georgina Cook and loving sister of Joan (Peter) Hills and the late Donna (Laszlo) Decsi. She was the much-loved Mom to Marilyn (Bob Kearns), Sandy Ward (Jerome), the late Donna Barrè (Paul), Carol (Dave Horner), Barbara O’Neil (Mike Fawcett), Lorianne Gardner and Suzanne Gardner. Predeceased by her much-loved son in law Gord Cooke. She loved being the Crazy and Fun Grandma to Amanda (Brandi) Sadlebarrè, Brent (Ana) Barrè, Matthew Cooke (Latisha), Tyler (Nicole) Cooke, Kaitlyn (Patrick) Orovan and Kristin (Justin) Hobart. One of her greatest loves was seeing pictures, videos or visiting with her 8 great grandchildren. Although 2020 has been a tough year, it was not entirely bad, bringing her 5 new grandbabies. She will now be able to give baby Zoe a kiss in heaven.
She will be remembered as a hard-working woman who never ever complained as she lovingly raised 7 daughters. She was quick witted and one of her greatest joys was randomly chatting with complete strangers, always telling them to smile! Her friendly and fun-loving nature are qualities that we should all aspire to emulate. She was a woman of faith and loved her church family at Our Lady of Mercy in Port Hope.
There are so many people she would have wanted to thank for being a special part of her life. She seemed to make friends wherever she went. She loved life and was especially thankful to all of those who came out for her birthday parade in November. Thanks to Olive who brought her beloved kitty in to visit this past weekend. We would often joke that she loved that cat, Roxie, more than she loved her kids! A special thank you to Roseglen Village Retirement staff whom she loved and who loved her back. Thank you to Dr. Durante and St. Elizabeth nurses. You all played an important part in helping her to stay at Roseglen, a place that she loved, until her passing into heaven.
I suspect that she is now doing her high kicks in heaven as she and her sister Donna and her daughter Donna are planning some kind of shenanigans. We all know she had a mischievous side and liked nothing better than a good gathering and a festive hat. Mom, we will always remember and love you and most of all we all want to be just like you when we grow up!
Due to Covid restrictions there will be no funeral at this time. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be planned for the spring and God willing, a big party with festive hats and lots of smiles in the not-too distant future. In the meantime, don’t forget to smile when you think of her. If desired, donations may be made through Allison Funeral Home in memory of Mom to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice.
