Tributes
Helen Noreen (Devlin) Cameron. Born April 16th, 1926 in Perth, Ontario. Died December 7th, 2020 in Ottawa. At 94 years, she slipped peacefully away, after goodbyes and expressions of love to all her family.
Deeply loving and loved, Helen was born to Mabel May (Whyte) and Joseph Henry Devlin, a sister to Ken, Joe, Billy, Eric, and Eva. Always an avid reader, Helen grew up in Perth, graduated with distinction from Queen’s University and the School of Nursing at Kingston General Hospital 1948. She married Donald Evan Cameron 1950 (b.1919 Oshawa – d.1983 Ottawa) and together they raised a family they adored: Hugh (m. Heather), Al, Bill (m. Genevieve), David (m. Marie-Line, d. 2004), Peggy, and Cathy (m. Rod). Throughout her life, Helen cherished her children, their spouses, her ten grand and two great grandchildren, her extended family of every age, and all her friends.
Helen lived a long life of enduring love for people and of curiosity for ideas, knowledge, books, travel, adventure, and exploration. She delighted in big get-togethers around the dinner table, with good food and vigorous discussion, shared with family and lifelong friends.
Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you.
