Obituary of Josephine Agnes Hunt
Josephine Agnes Hunt
(Nee Terry)
1932 – 2020
Irishtown, NL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on Friday, December 25th, 2020 at Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 88 years. Josephine was the daughter of Hughie and Mary Terry, born January 30th, 1932. She married the love of her life Frank Hunt on November 20th, 1952. They had five daughters. Having lived a long life of 88 years, she spent her time doing the things she enjoyed. She loved her card games, playing darts and knitting. She enjoyed attending community functions and helping out whenever she could. She always reminded me of a cat with her kittens because she had to know where we were every minute of the day and night.
She leave to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Jean (Ben), Liza (Bruce), Alice (Jerry) and Carm (John); her sisters Jane Clark (Joe deceased), Mary Hann (Jr. deceased), brother Cyril Terry (Marilyn), sister-in-law Mae Terry; grandchildren: Angie, Ashley, John, Serena, Pamela and Kim; great grandchildren: Kevin, Teigan, Ryan, Lilly, Hannah, Brooklyn, Lauren, Luke and Jordan; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank (2015), daughter Lillian, grandson Donnie, granddaughter Laura and great grandson Braeden; parents Hughie and Mary Terry, brother Jim Terry (Ida), Gerald Terry, Mick Terry and sister Agnes Porter (Edgar).
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her care giver, Lori Mishaud, who went above and beyond for our Mom, we could not have asked for better. Mom loved her like one of her own. To Dr. Ralph for her weekly visits to her home, to the Doctor’s and staff of the 3rd floor for their excellent care and compassion shown to our Mom and to us, your kindness did not go unnoticed.
Our hearts are overflowing with memoires, laughs and love, AND we have a Christmas Angel!!
She will certainly be missed, her early morning calls and every night with “just calling for the night”, will be just one of the many things that won’t go unnoticed. As special thank you to our sister Alice for her many years of putting her own life on hold to be with our Mom 24-7. It did not go unnoticed.
There will be a private family viewing on Sunday from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Marks Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass on Monday, December 28th from All Hallows Parish, with Father Edward Terry officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
Flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Autism Society in honor of her great grandson Kevin, whom she dearly loved.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Josephine
